Welcome to the Carolina Garrison!
The Carolina Garrison is the North Carolina/South Carolina chapter of the 501st Legion. Formed by South Carolina residents, Albin Johnson and Tom Crews in August 1997, the 501st Legion has grown to become an all-volunteer / fan-based, international Star Wars costuming organization with more than 9,500 active members representing 6 continents and more than 47 nations. The 501st Legion also contains over 15,500 approved costumes worldwide through its members. Well known for its charity work, the 501st Legion has become the preferred costuming group for Lucasfilm Ltd. / Disney when it comes to high profile Star Wars events.
The 501st Legion strives to celebrate the Star Wars saga through highly-detailed costumes and props, in particular those of the Galactic Empire and other various “bad guy” characters. No matter if you are a current member or interested in joining our ranks, there are many characters to choose from in this vast galaxy created by George Lucas. Characters from the Prequel Trilogy, Original Trilogy, The Clone Wars animated series, Star Wars: Rebels and the new film sagas, beginning with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The options are almost boundless. There is definitely no shortage to the "bad guy characters" you could portray.
If you live in the North & South Carolina borders and are interested in joining the 501st Legion, please sign up on our Carolina Garrison forums today to find out how to take part in the Star Wars universe.
